2015 Achievements

Roller Skating, usually considered a recreational sport is gaining popularity in India, more as a competitive sport especially among children. The participation and enrollment in to roller skating as reached its greatest degree of support in our Country these days. In Puducherry the sport has received immense interest among youngsters and students. Though it is a foreign sport, the love for the sport shown by students towards it is unimaginable

Mr. Anthony James Ex-Indian Coach has given us a great opportunity of 10 days technical camp, in that more than 20 inline & Quad skaters got benefited. 

  

April 2015

Joey Mantia World Champions from America visited India and trained at the camps of Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai & Ahmadabad in the month of April especially for inline speed skaters. A team of four skaters along with their coach Mr. A. Michel received the wonderful opportunity of attending the camp at Pune. The state of Puducherry had benefited out of this fantastic opportunity of gaining exposure and training from an international sportsman by their coach and trainers. On behalf of Puducherry State, Joey Mantia was honoured with a momentum by the “Pondicherry Speed Roller Skating Club” skaters as a token of their gratitude.

Our Club “Pondicherry Speed Roller Skating Club” conducted “Inter Club Meet 2015” In which more than 200 skaters participated. The inter club meet aims to provide the right platform to sportsman and sportsmen from all skaters to show their talent. The event aims to inculcation among the participant a sense of competition. The spirit, leadership qualities and to promote roller skating among the children of all skaters.

Pondicherry Roller Skating Association conducted 17th State championship 2015.
From our club 28 skaters participated (Below 8 & above 8Years)
Total 51 Medals (Gold – 21, Silver - 15 , Bronze- 15)

 

Dec 2015

The 61st All India School National Roller Skating Championship was held in the 1st week of December in Belgaum, Karnataka. Our Academy skater Master V.Kaushik son of Mr.Varardarajan, Inspector of Police, Lawspet, got silver medal in Rink 3(TT). “It is the first time in the history of Puducherry” that an inline Skater is getting the medal in Time Trail with the timing of 29.47 in 300 mts in under 14 category.

The 53rd National Roller Skating Championship held at Pune our Club skaters participated in various events like, Rink Elimination 10000 mts, Road Elimination 10000 mts, Point to Point 10000 mts, Relay 3000 mts, Marathon 21 kms, etc and got benefited.

School Zone final. 7 skaters from our academy got selected & they came up with flying colors

Gold – 8, Silver – 7, Bronze – 4

Thanks to our Puducherry Govt, Thiru.Lennin DD Sports, Thiru. Raguram PET & Thiru Sivaraj PET, all Govt PET Official & all parents for their dedication and hard work.

I also extended my thanks to Mr.Thiruvengadam, President & Mr. Prasad Rao, Gen Secretary Pondicherry Roller Skating association for their support.
